Toya Goes to Africa 2020
Hello!!!!

My name is LaToya, most people just call me Toya!! I am currently a graduate student getting a master's degree in Biomedical Engineering at the University of New Haven in CT and I graduate May 2020!!! Yay!!!! Next year I will begin a doctorate program in Naturopathic Medicine at the National University of Health Sciences in IL. (I'm already accepted Yay Yay!!!) I know this is a weird combination of education, but let me explain. My goals in life are simple, I want to help as many people as possible with everything that I have to offer, this includes my love for medicine, engineering, and Christ.

As an engineer my goal is to conduct research in the medical field and help those who are less fortunate or just struggling in general with health but don't always have the resources. As a Naturopathic Doctor (ND) I will be able to help those who are in need, all around the world to use their natural resources to find solutions in healthcare!!

This summer will be my last "free" summer to travel and really see what is out there before entering into my ND program full time and year round, and I want to take it to give back with Christ!! I have a wonderful opportunity with the student led organization Bethel Campus Fellowship! I will be traveling with others in various medical or biology related fields to give back not only spiritually, but in the healthcare field as well.

This summer I will travel from June 19th - July 4th to Eswatini (Swaziland) and from July 19th-August 3rd to Nigeria!!! I will have the opportunity to bring the Gospel and to just show the love of God as best as I know how; by being there with the people!

I am raising $6,000 to cover the travel, housing accommodations, food, supplies, etc for both trips! I am asking that you consider donating toward this endeavor. I have the following deadlines to raise the money for my trips:

December 31, 2019 - $2000
February 16, 2020 - $1400
March 15, 2020 - $600
April 1, 2020 - $600
May 17, 2020 - $900
June 21, 2020 - $500
